Grassy Mountain Public Input Process
LLG Submission On Grassy Mountain Coal - May 2, 2020
LLG has responded to the Grassy Mountain Coal Project Joint Review Panel raising issues related to human health, mine engineering and design and other project impacts. LLG asked the panel to require Benga to organize and index its voluminous and disorganized filings and also requested more time for third-party assessments and preparations if the project goes to hearing. Interested LLG Members and the public are urged to donate now to fund expert resources. Read more.
The next step in the process will be a public hearing and LLG is working collaboratively with Canadian Parks and Wilderness Society (CPAWS) and other stakeholders to review the 1344 page document in detail and decide how best to prepare evidence with the help of scientists and specialists to address the sufficiency (or insufficiency) and technical merit of the addendum.
